Dr. Macayla Richards
Naturopathic Physician and Primary Care Provider
Dr. Macayla is a warmhearted and enthusiastic physician who loves the whole spectrum of primary care and getting to know her patients to build strong healing relationships.
She knew from a young age that she wanted to work in healthcare; first as a veterinarian, then a psychologist, and finally as a naturopathic doctor. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics for her love of food before completing her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and certificate of Naturopathic Obstetrics and Midwifery from the National University of Natural Medicine. She is proudly LGBTQ+ and loves to engage with Pride events as both community member and medical provider to increase health access.
She has extensive training in perinatal care, pediatrics, women's health, and LGBTQ+ health-especially transgender care. She has written case studies on women's health and fertility, domestic violence, and pediatric diabetes, as well as educational pieces on LGBTQ+ medical and family-planning care. She loves working with patients to cultivate mental health self-care, especially in the setting of anxiety, depression, and ADHD. She uses the expansive options provided by naturopathic care to utilize self-care, mindfulness, nutrition, herbs, and pharmaceuticals to create individualized treatments for each of her patients.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Macayla can be found in her natural habitat at home cuddling with her soon-to-be-wife and dogs on the couch with a mug of tea and a good book or show. She also loves finding new and delicious food, spinning yarn, crocheting, video and tabletop gaming, and spending time with her family and friends.
